A 1993 Nissan Maxima was taken from the parking lot of a Kane Street apartment complex. Dec. Dec. 30, police said. It was locked at the time. No gunshot wounds were reported. Three Hartford men were in custody early Friday after the incident: Carlos Collazo, Luis Lugo Ortiz and Juan Ramos Rivera. The Department of Correction officer involved in the shootout has been identfied as Angel Ortolaza, 41, a nine year veteran.

Sto len Car Found, With Bullet Holes

Hartford police have recovered a stolen car with bullet holes in it but no signs of blood or other evidence. The black 1997 Nissan Maxima was found at 162 Stonington St. Wednesday, police said. The suspects, Ruben Baez, 22, and Rahda Charles, 18, were arraigned on Wednesday in Superior Court in Hartford. They are each in custody with bail set at $500,000. According to an arrest warrant, the men denied threatening the victim or holding him against his will, but told police they merely asked him to return money he had scammed from them.

Police are investigating a robbery during which a man was beaten with a stick and a car was stolen. in Walnut Hill Park, near the Hospital of Central Connecticut at New Brit ain General, police said. Three men took off in a tan Nissan Maxima, they said.
